Section 9
Common Mistakes to Avoid
A short list of things to avoid. Read this before your first send — it prevents most issues.
Do not forget the library link
Every weekly calendar message should include https://dfpl.libnet.info/
Do not send to the wrong language group
Spanish messages should go to Spanish contacts. English messages should go to English contacts.
Do not send without testing
Always send a test first. Check the message on a real phone before sending to the full group.
Do not use SMS for long weekly updates
SMS is for short reminders. WhatsApp is for the weekly calendar update.
Do not edit automations
Staff should not edit Workflows, Automations, Triggers, Templates, Language paths, or Wait steps. Ariel/Admin handles this for now.
Do not attach the wrong flyer
Before sending, check: correct event, correct language, correct date, correct file.
Do not send too many messages
Use messages carefully. The goal is to help the community, not overwhelm them.
When in doubt — ask first.
Ariel/Admin would much rather answer a quick question than fix a message that already went out.
